Advent Gingerbread Houses

Here we are, already at the first Sunday of advent! After a busy weekend, the kids were still excited for the next event! Every year, MVPC puts on a Gingerbread Event to celebrate the start of advent.

Because we live so far away, Caleb, Bethany and I had lunch and some much needed play time at McDonalds with our friend Christina and then headed back to the church to find a table and enjoy some time with Daddy.

Brian sings a couple Christmas carols with the kids up on stage before everyone starts decorating. This is a part that Caleb and Bethany look forward to. All day Caleb talked about being able to go on stage with Daddy!

After some singing and, in our kids' case, dancing, it was time to decorate the houses! It was decided that Dad would help Caleb with his and Mom would help Bethany with hers. It is amazing how serious some families are when it comes to decorating the houses. As for us, our only rule is that Mom and Dad put the icing on. Caleb and Bethany would just let us know where they wanted it and choose whichever piece of candy they wanted to place onto the houses.

Inevitably, some candy gets eaten.
